Now it’s the time of the year for a bit of fun attending the open days and really seeing what the medical schools are like. I’ve decided to stay in London to study so have been visiting the local universities. It’s been a good chance to meet people and leave to rest any queries I have about admissions and the actual medical school.

I have been continuing on with my UKCAT preparations but have left my most difficult section quantitative reasoning to practice some of the other areas. I started with verbal reasoning which after a few goes wasn’t too bad. If I was ever wrong it was between the answer can’t tell and the correct answer but with practise this section I feel should be okay. I next went on to abstract reasoning which involves finding the group the pattern belongs to. UKCATprep.com really helped me with this section because at first I did not always know which group the pattern belonged to but after the last test shape in a section it explained the answers and slowly I began to understand. Now I am feeling much more confident about this section but I will definitely be practising more!

I am still working full time for the summer so sometimes I feel I haven’t got enough time to complete everything but I’m going to make sure I keep practising. I am still adding ideas together for my personal statement and have been continuing with my volunteering when I can which has definitely left me very busy for summer!
